What Drives Us

Mission

Jamming and GPS denial take unmanned systems out of the fight before they've done their job. Falcata Systems builds FMM-L so that doesn't have to happen — a mission module that keeps the command link alive and the navigation solution trustworthy, on whatever vehicle the operator is already flying or driving. We build for defense and for civil protection alike: a wildfire-response drone and a tactical ground robot run into the same jamming problem, and we think one well-built module should serve both.

Production Approach

Lean manufacturing

Falcata Systems was founded to close a gap in the defense market: large contractors carry overheads that push unit costs well above €5,000, while commercial off-the-shelf alternatives are barred from tactical use. We close that gap with a lean manufacturing protocol built around three principles:

Scalable electronics: 4-layer PCBs with ENIG finish, prototyped in-house via hot-plate thermal processing to protect IP during early development.
3D-printed enclosures: Manufactured via local 3D-print farms using aero-grade PLA (LW-PLA) reinforced with carbon fiber, for both the FMM-L housing and the NÓTUS demonstrator.
Rapid iteration: This approach removes the need for expensive injection molds, letting us update hardware revisions in days, not months.

Falcata Systems is run by a two-person founder team covering software and sensor integration on one side, and hardware and manufacturing on the other.

Mike

Founder, Software & Sensor Integration

Mike builds the software side of FMM-L — the command-link logic and the GNSS integrity monitoring that flags jamming and spoofing before it costs the mission — and leads the software work on the NÓTUS demonstrator used to validate it in flight.

Nuno designs and builds the hardware that has to survive the field — PCB design, enclosures, and manufacturing for both the FMM-L module and the NÓTUS demonstrator airframe.

Regulatory & Compliance

Compliance & trust posture

Selling into defense and civil-protection procurement will mean our regulatory and export-control posture needs to be as verifiable as our hardware.

Export Control

FMM-L is dual-use hardware. We have not yet established a formal EU dual-use export-control classification or NATO STANAG compliance status; we intend to build that posture in step with our first operational partnerships.

Certification

We are not yet certified against any specific standard. Pursuing the appropriate certification pathway is part of our roadmap as we move from prototype toward partner evaluation.
